Margarita first volunteered
with us in Leominster during the 2002 elections
and now sits on our Board of Directors. She
likes attending delegation visits with legislators
and participating in phone banks. As the mother
of three, Margarita is most concerned about
housing costs, health care and prescription
drug coverage. She is on disability and also
relies on food stamps to provide for her family.
Polly got involved
with N2N-MA when we first started organizing
in Fitchburg around an affordable housing campaign
and is most passionate about talking to the
community about the importance of N2N-MA's work.
She was very active in the interview process
of City Council candidates in 2001 and went
door-to-door to get out the vote on Election
Day. Most recently, Polly has worked on generating
printed materials and facilitating strategy
sessions during our campaign to increase state
revenue in order to stop budget cuts. Polly
receives welfare due to a disability from a
car accident. She is a single mother of one
and lives in Green Acres public housing.
Silvia joined N2N-MA
during 2002 and now represents Fitchburg on
our Board. She most enjoys meeting with legislators
and going door-to-door and is also an active
participant in our regular volunteer meetings
and statewide delegates meetings. As a single
mother of four, Silvia cares most about housing
and health care issues. She receives disability
and is originally from Puerto Rico.
Mirta joined N2N-MA
during our Stop the Cuts Campaign in 2002. She
is most passionate about housing and education
and likes attending rallies and large demonstrations
to show her support for these issues. Mirta
has two children and is originally from Chile.
