Heather
got involved with N2N-MA during our legislative
campaign in 1999 and spent the summer of
2001 as an Intern with us. She is a single
mother of one and a former welfare recipient,
and lives in subsidized housing in Salem.
In 2002, Heather ran for State Representative
against the longest serving Democrat at
the State House and remains active as a
member of our local steering committee. |

Lucy, a Latina single mother of three,
got involved with N2N-MA through the Point Neighborhood Association
that we started in her community. In November of 2003, she was elected
to the Salem City Council, making her our first volunteer leader to
win public office. Over 50 volunteers got involved with the campaign,
electing Lucy with 60% of the vote over the legislative aide of conservative
State Representative Mike Ruane. Lucy currently sits on our Board
of Directors. |
Javier started volunteering with N2N-MA through one
of our local campaigns in Salem. Since then, he has worked on our fair
tax campaigns, gone door-to-door, and spoke on the radio and on television
about issues affecting struggling working families. Javier is a steering
committee member of the Point Neighborhood Association and served on our
statewide elections committee in 2002. He lives in subsidized housing
in Salem, with his wife and five children, and currently serves on our
Board of Directors. |
