Through our voter registration, education, and get-out-the-vote work,
we dramatically increase voter turnout in low-income communities.

In order to fully empower new voters in our organizing areas, we participate
in partisan election campaigns and give our activists the opportunity
to endorse and work for candidates who really represent their views.

To hold elected officials accountable to the needs of struggling working
families, we organize mass call-ins, letter-writing campaigns, delegation
visits with legislators and public accountability sessions on our priority
issues each year.

For low-income people to influence elected officials and have an impact
on public policy, we believe it's essential to unite them in local and
statewide coalitions with unions, social service agencies and community
groups.

The only way to build sustainable grassroots power in low-income areas
is by developing strong local leaders. Through our organizing, we recruit
volunteers and give them the skills they need to be activists in their
community.
