Lynn is the most underfunded school district in the state of Massachusetts. As a result, our students go to school each day in crumbling buildings with outdated books and too few teachers. Since 2011, parents and concerned residents in Lynn have been organizing to demand full investment in the future of our young people. We have won major reforms, securing interpretation and translation for non-English-speaking parents and providing a supportive environment for LGBTQ students. Currently, we are working to ensure that the City of Lynn provides the legal minimum of funding to its schools and expand the Community School model to forge tight-knit neighborhoods where everyone is learning and no one falls through the cracks.
